George C. Platisa

Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, Ascent Media Corporation

George Platisa was appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Ascent Media Corporation in September 2008, and Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Ascent Media Group in May 2001. In this role, George is responsible for overseeing the worldwide financial activities of Ascent Media Group. Within his scope of principle duties are controllership and treasury activities, external and internal financial reporting, financial planning, tax planning, purchasing and real estate.  

George brings over 25 years of experience in finance and operations to his post at Ascent Media Group. Prior to joining the company, he served as Chief Financial Officer of Broadband Sports. In this capacity, he was responsible for all financial activities for the sports media company, including raising capital raising activities, operating plans, controllership activities, and financial and management reporting.

Previously, he was the Chief Financial Officer of PacificCare of California, a $7 billion managed healthcare company, where he oversaw all financial activities for the company.

George also held various posts at The Walt Disney Company, including Vice President of Operations Planning. In this position, he directed Disney's worldwide annual operating plan, managed worldwide financial operating forecasts, as well as evaluated the annual capital plan and operating performance.  He began his career at Price Waterhouse.

George holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from La Verne University and resides in La Canada with his wife and three children.
